Chett Chaisson

As executive director of the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, Chett Chiasson has been laser focused on advancing Port Fourchon’s role in the “all things energy space,” including sustainable developments, coastal protection, and the integration of emerging energy sectors such as LNG and offshore wind, to ensure energy security and economic resilience for Louisiana and the nation.

Under his leadership, the port has also expanded its capabilities, notably through the development of the Fourchon Island Deepwater Port, aimed at servicing heavy industry sectors.

Chiasson’s strategic vision has positioned Port Fourchon as a leader in both the traditional and renewable energy domains. He has also played a pivotal role in disaster recovery, notably reopening the port within nine days in conjunction with other local partner agencies after Hurricane Ida in 2021, demonstrating resilience and commitment to uninterrupted energy supply.
