First Sabine Pass commercial delivery expected in August

The first commercial delivery of LNG from the Sabine Pass in Cameron Parish is expected in August 2019.

That comes now that Cheniere Energy Partners L.P. has confirmed it achieved substantial completion of Train 5 for the project. According to a statement, commissioning has been completed and Cheniere Partners’ EPC partner Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals Inc. has turned over care, custody and control of Train 5 to Cheniere Partners.

Cheniere Partners and Bechtel have now declared substantial completion of five liquefaction trains at the Sabine Pass liquefaction project ahead of each train’s guaranteed completion date and within project budgets. Prep work on the sixth LNG train began in November.

Under the sale and purchase agreements, or SPAs, with Centrica plc and Total Gas & Power North America Inc., the date of the first commercial delivery is expected to occur in August this year. At this point, the terms of each of these SPAs will begin.
