Delegation seeks to stop new oil drilling off Florida coast

Florida’s Republican-dominated congressional delegation is urging the Trump administration to drop a plan that would allow new oil drilling for the first time in decades off the state’s coast.

Republican Sens. Rick Scott and Ashley Moody as well as all 28 of the state’s U.S. House members have signed a letter saying the Interior Department’s plan would put Florida’s thriving tourism industry at risk and disrupt military operations in a key training area. Read more from the Associated Press.
