GM scraps plans for $300 million EV project

General Motors has scrapped a $300 million electric vehicle motor project at its Tonawanda, New York, plant, opting instead to invest $888 million in producing next-generation V-8 engines.

The shift comes amid slowing EV sales. GM says the investment is its largest ever in an engine plant and will make Tonawanda the second site building its sixth-generation V-8 engines. Read more from The Wall Street Journal.
