Multi-firm partnership focuses on carbon capture hub in Louisiana

Spanish supermajor Repsol SA is partnering with Carbon-Zero U.S. LLC, Cox Operating LLC and Crescent Midstream to develop a carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) hub on the Gulf Coast, focusing initially on storing emissions in Louisiana, reports Natural Gas Intelligence.

Dallas-based Cox operates more than 600 wells from 500 structures across an estimated one million acres from Texas to Florida. Louisiana-based Crescent moves about 25% of the GOM crude oil output onshore, connecting to refineries in Louisiana and Texas.

Carbon-Zero has applied to the U.S. Department of Energy to pilot a CCS hub that would access Crescent’s offshore storage fields and Cox’s Grand Isle operations. Read the entire story.
