Danos has been selected as the primary contractor to support the floating production unit projects of an unnamed integrated energy major in the Gulf.
Under the contract, Danos will handle hook-up, commissioning and ongoing production operations for newly sanctioned floating production units, while also providing added support to the project and construction teams.
In making the announcement, the company disclosed that it will supply all topside production processing staff, along with maintenance, crane and lifting services for the facilities. Danos expects to initially onboard 40 to 45 employees—including topside operations supervisory personnel, mechanics, electricians, automation specialists and production operators—with a similar staffing model planned for a second production unit.
The arrangement relies on an integrated onsite team of multidisciplined Danos professionals, backed by an onshore technical group, to deliver full operational support across the facilities.
Reed Peré, president of Danos Operations Services, said the project reflects continued growth in the company’s outsourced operations model, which allows Danos to run facilities on a client’s behalf across the asset lifecycle. The approach is designed to help operators lower expenses and gain greater flexibility in managing complex assets.
“This project highlights our proven approach to managing operations,” Peré said. “We are focused on delivering safe, reliable performance from startup through ongoing production.”
