Turner Industries wins national tech award for its workflow tablet

Industrial contracting firm Turner Industries has received a 2019 Constructech Vision for Safety Award for Turner Tablet, an innovative technology system that allows crews to digitally manage workflow in real time and operate in a smart, safe and efficient manner. The Constructech accolade is Turner’s sixth in a decade.

The Turner Tablet process deploys customized, easy-to-use tablet computers to foremen in the field. The devices are equipped with proprietary applications that help increase efficiency and safety by making analytics readily available, automating procedures and administrative functions, streamlining communication and increasing accountability, among other functions. In the past year, job sites where electronic Job Safety Analyses are completed on Turner Tablets have realized a combined seven-figure documented cost savings.

The Constructech Vision Awards recognize companies that solve complex construction challenges by utilizing emerging technologies in a pioneering way. Companies eligible for the award include residential, commercial and heavy construction businesses, professionals in all trades, architectural and engineering firms, corporate owners, facility management, government agencies and land developers. Turner Industries was honored in the Corporate Owner: Industrial/MFG category.

It is ranked the top industrial maintenance contractor nationwide and the top contractor in Texas and Louisiana by Engineering News-Record Sourcebook.
