U.S. natural gas and LNG infrastructure have been named as critical to national defense and energy security under the Defense Production Act, per a determination order by the Trump administration earlier this week.
The order authorizes federal support to expand pipelines, processing, storage and export capacity, citing risks from foreign dependence and infrastructure gaps.
